Scalloway - Stromness

We stayed in Scalloway at the Boating Club pontoon until Sunday morning which gave a few more people the chance to come along as you can see! Alisha and Kaylee were delighted to have lots of their friends onboard as were Ali and I to have all the parents!
The boat supplies of whisky and rum were polished off by the boys - Alistair might be having a drier trip than he envisaged.
The boating club was a great place to stay although very rocky in the South Easterly winds. It was so windy we thought we would not be going until Monday but when we woke on Sunday to a calm sunny day we thought we had better go for it. So after a bit of tidying and phoning mum and dad to come and get the pick up keys we left.

It was a very calm and sunny day and a lovely trip although we had to motor sail the whole way. Ali was more disappointed about that than me.............
We got into Westray about 10.00pm and hit the sack after looking at the tides for the next day.

We only had a couple of hours to look around Westray before leaving to catch the tide into Stromness at tea time. Today's sail
has been a little windier so we have sailed nearly all the way.

Some one in Stromness has unsecured wifi and lives near enough to the pier for us to pick it up so we can post this. We are going to spend a day in Stromness at least as I haven't really been further than the Ferry Inn when the boat used to berth here on the way down for a couple of hours. I hope they don't remember me........!
